The overhang above this window needs to be replaced, as you can see the exterior damage. What you can't see is the rot forming underneath which can really lead to extensive damage to the home if not treated quickly.
The first step after removing the overhang and siding is installing ice & water shield. This will keep the watter running down the new copper from penetrating the exterior of the home.
Brian was able to fabricate this custom copper roof to fit perfectly over the window. This new roof will keep the water from running over the window while preventing water damage to the exterior of the home as well.
With only a little cleanup left to finish the project, you can see how great the new copper looks.
These homeowners called us after noticing damage to the small roofs over their second-floor windows. These sections were designed to help keep water from running down the windows, but what our certified expert noticed was that the water running over it and into the wood had begun to cause rot. Rather than just replacing the wood with new wood, we decided the best solution was copper. The copper not only will last longer and prevent any water damage, but it adds a nice aesthetic to this home's curb appeal too.
