These sections of metal along the edge of the roof has clearly outlived its usefulness. It's these panels that our craftsmen will be replacing with new copper.
Once the existing metal has been removed, the next step for our crew is to install ice & water shield. This will keep the roof water tight and prevent ice dams from causing damage when they form.
Our crew begins installing the new copper panels. Each one was fabricated in our sheet metal shop to custom fit this project, and our craftsmen pride themselves on being able to do this for every project.
Our crew used red cement along the edge of the copper panels as this will ensure that the slates and copper have a strong seal between them.
This project has been completed, with the slates installed around the new copper panels to create a water tight roof.
For this project we had to repair a slate roof which had seen significant damage from ice dams over the past few winters. Our certified expert had determined that replacing the bottom few feet of slates with copper would be the best solution. Our skilled craftsmen were able to fabricate each sheet of copper to the perfect size, and solder them all together to create a watertight seal. The newly installed copper not only looks beautiful, but it will alleviate the ice dam issues as well.
