For this job we converted a piece of roof that had been developing severe ice damns to rubber. Directly beneath this piece of roof was heater that had been causing snow to form ice damns, by swapping this part of the roof to rubber we helped mitigate any damage that would be caused by the back up.
Removed and replaced rubber on the roof. One more step till completion!
This customer had been experiencing issues with their gutters not working properly for years before they decided to call us. Not only do the new copper gutters give the property a great new look, but they also ensure water flows off the roof properly.
This part of this project was all about repairing damage along the valley of this tile roof. There were several spots where the tiles were damaged, so our crew stripped the valley back to the wood on either side to start this project. This allowed them to make sure the roof was watertight before replacing the broken tiles, bringing this project to a close!
Improperly installed flashing can deteriorate overtime and begin to leak. This was the case with this chimney. We removed the original flashing and installed new copper flashing.
A relatively standard copper installation with the exception of the cedar shakes. Not a typical combo but it came out great!
A tricky roof with a large flat portion meant that we couldn't just extend the tiling to the edge, and the homeowner didn't want a rubber roof. Our solution was to install custom fabricated copper panels which were then soldering together to provide extremely strong protection against snow and water!
With chimney water had been seeping in between the cap and the siding causing the both to deteriorate. Our solution was to remove the rotting siding, apply ice and water shield to the chimney beneath, replace the siding, and then install a new custom chimney cap.
For this customer in Belmont, we provided some repair work on an inset dormer around one of the windows. We used copper to give the house a newer look, and the new work will prevent any leaking or future damage. Check out our photo gallery for more pictures of this job.
The existing copper roof at this home was starting to leak so we replaced the panels. Not only does the shiny new copper look fantastic, but the precise seals created by our expert craftsmen when soldering the panels will let water run right off the roof rather than into it. The first photo also shows the ice and water shield which goes underneath the copper panels.
For this job, we made major repairs to this customer's slate roof. The roof had been neglected, but the work we did will ensure that the roof will still last for years and years. Being able to handle projects like this one shows why GF Sprague is the slate roofing expert in Massachusetts.
